The German footballers have faced France four times in major tournaments – all games won by the DFB team.

“We know that France has enormous quality in the transition moments and fantastic individual players with a lot of speed,” said national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg about the German semi-final opponent next Wednesday (July 27th, 2022) in Milton Keynes. “We’ll give everything we’ve got on Wednesday and hope that France respect the performance we’ve shown. It’ll be an even game, little things will probably decide it.”

The German national team played a total of 20 international matches against the “Grande Nation”. The record: eleven wins, four draws, five defeats. There were four duels at European and world championships, all of which were won by the DFB women. However, France won the last meeting on June 10, 2021 in Strasbourg with a goal from Kenza Dali.
