The ninth stage of the Tour de France leads largely through Switzerland from start place Aigle on Sunday. Only after the difficult Pas de Morgins has been climbed, less than 10 kilometers from the finish, the border crossing to France, where the line is drawn in Châtel Les Portes Du Soleil. The first rider is expected there around 5.30 pm.
The start of the stage, which will be followed by a rest day on Monday, is at 12:45 PM. In the loop through Switzerland, the peloton passes the headquarters of the international cycling union UCI on the second pass in Aigle. There are four climbs along the way: one of the fourth, one of the second and two of the first category, including the Pas de Morgins.
Slovenian Tadej Pogacar wears the yellow jersey, Wout van Aert the green. The Belgian from Jumbo-Visma strengthened his leading position in the points classification on Saturday thanks to a stage win in Lausanne. The Dane Magnus Cort can wear the mountain jersey for another day, probably for the last time. Briton Tom Pidcock, second in the youth classification behind Pogacar, is dressed in the white jersey.
