Neprjajewa wins and takes over yellow
Natalja Neprjajewa won the day among women. The Russian prevailed against the Swede Johanna Hagström in an exciting final in sunshine in Oberstdorf with an irresistible double-stick push in the last few meters. Third place went to the Finn Johanna Matintalo. With her sprint victory, the 26-year-old Neprjajewa also took the lead in the tour’s overall standings.
Hennig is unlucky enough to be eliminated in the quarter-finals
Already eliminated one lap earlier, Katharina Hennig was fourth in her quarter-finals, Sofie Krehl was fifth in her race and Katherine Sauerbrey was sixth in her run. Hennig, who was tenth and was the best German in the qualification, had bad luck. The Oberwiesenthalerin, who lives in Oberstdorf, was able to fall from Jessie Diggins (USA) just dodge. But Hennig lost so much time in the evasive maneuver that she was no longer able to intervene in the fight for the first two places in her quarter-finals.
Three-minute penalty for Karlsson
Diggins lost the tour leader’s yellow jersey due to her fall and elimination. Brugger: premiere and final quarter-finals
