Ajax can prepare for a tough group stage in the Europa League. The team from Amsterdam will meet Olympique Marseille, Brighton & Hove Albion and AEK Athens. Ajax is in group B.
Ajax made it to the Europa League on Thursday evening by beating Bulgarian Ludogorets over two matches. It won big in Bulgaria (4-1 win) and played a disappointing game in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Thursday (0-1 loss). The last time in the group stage of the Europa League for Ajax was in 2016/17.
The group phase starts on Thursday 21 September and ends on Thursday 14 December. The game schedule is not yet known. Ajax will play against Fortuna Sittard in Limburg on Sunday afternoon at 2.30 pm.
