Days to forget for Luke Sikma (33)! Alba Berlin’s captain better stays in bed these weeks.

Due to a muscle injury, he has not been able to train for a week and a half. So it was no wonder that he lagged behind his form in the cup semi-final in Oldenburg on Saturday against Bayern Munich (77:83).

The American, who practically came out of the cold, scored only one point and never made it into the game. Consequence: The first missed cup final in Berlin after five finals in a row.

Sikma: “Of course I’m disappointed. But I also know that we still have enough games to gain a sense of achievement.” The next on Friday in the Euroleague at Red Star Belgrade.

But first he has to get fit, also for a new contract. The four-year contract that the 2.03 meter man got in 2019 expires at the end of the season. “I like it very much in Berlin,” he emphasized again and again.

Talks haven’t started yet. But he will certainly not be offered four new years.
