His words: “Many clubs in Serie A follow Pagano. When Francesco looks at a player it’s always a sentence, both positive and negative”
John De Montisco-founder together with Francesco Totti of the CT10Management, gave a long interview to Calciomercato.com. These are his words:
How is the CT10 structured? “Totti is the reference partner, I am the partner-agent who takes care of the negotiation/contractual part and Giancarlo Pantano is our closest collaborator. In addition to us, there are a number of other external collaborators who identify players and report them “.
What are your goals? “We are a newborn agency that has chosen to hire young players to grow with them. We are lucky enough to work in Rome where there is a large catchment area, but in general we are active both nationally and internationally. Our strategy is not to sign as many players as possible, rather to sign a few but with perspective”.
Who is the first player who signed with you? “Cristian Volpato, from Roma. It was a great satisfaction. He had arrived at 16 from Australia, had never played in the Italian youth team and it was a gamble in all respects. His mother was very good at bringing him here, in the end His path crossed with Francesco who, after seeing him, immediately understood that that boy had potential. He was the first player he saw.”
Surely the expert eye in this case makes the difference. “When he looks at a player he is always a judgement, both positive and negative. Some time ago we saw some 2007s on which he had made certain comments, and punctually, after a couple of years what he had predicted came true “.
You have recently renewed Pagano’s contract with Roma, can you tell us which player is he? “I like to start from one fact: he’s the midfielder who has scored the most goals and assists in the Roma Primavera squad. He’s currently scored 8 goals and 5 assists, it’s only March and he’s already done better than any other player in his position at end of the season. To motivate him, we tell him that he must be a small Nainggolan, the coach Guidi advises him to let as many balls pass through his feet as possible. Furthermore, Pagano has a great mentality: when there is a difficulty, he doesn’t throw himself down, but becomes even more determined”.
Have you received any offers yet? “I can’t say, he’s fine at Roma, but I can say that in Italy there are many teams interested in him.”
Among the best talents in your team there is also Filippo Distefano from Fiorentina. “Already last year he had distinguished himself in the spring of Mr. Aquilani so much that he was the only one to make his first team debut in the league against Sampdoria. This year he is repeating himself with goals and great performances. He has also earned he made his debut in the Conference League where he had a great start and came close to scoring.He is a player who plays mature football and is ready for a first team whether it’s in Florence or away.
What can you tell us about Toni Caravaca, Barcelona midfielder born in 2004? “Offers arrived from Serie A in January, but Barcelona didn’t let him leave. The Spanish club is reflecting on the boy’s expiring contract, Napoli are also very interested.”
Another young man to follow? “Mootez Zaddem, Tunisian born in 2001; he’s a very technical midfielder. We often tease him by saying he looks like Zidane, but speaking seriously, he has important potential.”
Are there any of your players abroad who could have come to Italy? “Max Aarons, Norwich right-back. He is managed by Rio Ferdinand’s English agency and we represent him in Italy. We had an important offer when Fonseca was still at Roma; it was one of the very first negotiations that Pinto did, but the request from the English was very high. The player’s contract expires in June 2024, and Norwich’s requests have also more than halved. He is a player who can make the difference in Serie A.”
