left-back
Tottenham Hotspur have signed Destiny Udogie from Udinese Calcio. The 19-year-old left-back has signed a contract with Spurs until June 2027, but will spend the current season on loan with the Serie A club. The Premier League representative will pay according to Fabrizio Romano a fee of around 18 million euros plus bonuses. Previously, there was talk of a possible total of 26 million euros.
“It’s a dream for me to move to a top club like Tottenham. It was an easy decision because they have a really good coach in Antonio Conte,” said Udogie. Last season, the youngster was the most prolific left-back in Serie A with five goals in 35 appearances. Over the course of the season, Udinese’s defensive talent made a step-by-step jump in market value from one to currently 17 million euros, making him the most valuable player in his team.

Tottenham only paid more for a left-back in the club’s history when signing Sergio Reguilón (25), when he joined from Real Madrid for €30m in the summer of 2020. Udogie has only been with the Bianconeri since last summer, who took the Italian junior international on loan from Hellas Verona and committed him to this season for €4 million.
We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Destiny Udogie from Udinese.
The defender has agreed a deal that will run until 2027 and will return to the Serie A side on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
