Sale the fever for the total solar eclipse in the USAan astronomical event that has been missing since 2017, and thousands of Americans are counting the days that separate them fromApril 8, 2024. But if the date seems far away, for fans it is all too close: to see it at its best, in fact, droves of people are already buying plane tickets from Dallas in Texas to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. The reason? Admire the event in flight.

The event will last 4 minutes and will belongest total solar eclipse in 100 years and will record a phase of maximum activity of our star. Once this has passed, Americans will have to wait until August 12, 2045 to follow another one.
The importance for scientific research
During the total eclipse of 2024, NASA will fund several research initiatives, based on studies conducted during the 2017 eclipse. The projects, led by researchers from several academic institutions, will study the Sun and its influence on the Earth. Compared, in fact, to seven years ago the phenomenon should appear larger and this will allow scientists to be able to observe the solar corona in much more detail.
