Tossa de Mar records six police officers for an attack on a drunk man

  • A citizen videotaped the incident and handed it over to the town hall

The ACity Council of Tossa de Mar (La Selva) has opened a disciplinary record To six agents of the Local police as a result of some images in which they are seen hitting a man what was going drunk. The events occurred in July. A citizen recorded the police action and now those images that he himself provided are the ones that have motivated the opening of the file. Those in charge of investigating the facts will be an instructor and a secretary assigned by the General Directorate of Local Police Coordination. At the moment, according to the council, “as a result of the seriousness of the facts“, the instructor himself has already sent the visual material to justice. The City Council and the Local Police regret the situation and hope “that it be resolved as soon as possible”.

In a statement that they have posted on the municipal website, the council explains that the disciplinary file on the six agents has been opened, precisely, “at the request” of the Local Police itself. In the letter, the consistory is secretive about the facts -because they are being investigated- but it does explain that the file is based on the images that a citizen provided about a police action that took place this summer.

In the statement, both the Tossa de Mar City Council and the local Police say they regret the situation. “We fully trust the work of justice and hope that it will be resolved as soon as possible,” the letter concludes.
