Nurse, who worked as an assistant coach in the Raptors between 2013-2018, was later appointed as the head coach. The Raptors had their first championship in their history under Nurse in the 2018-2019 season. The experienced coach was selected as the head coach of the year in the NBA in the 2019-2020 season.
The Raptors, who took 9th place in the Eastern Conference with 41 wins and 41 losses this season, could not make it to the play-offs even though they were entitled to play in.
