So we know that cyclists are vulnerable road users and that is why we also know that this can be a dangerous point.” That is why, for example, the zebra crossing has been moved. This way, children can cross a little further from the roundabout more safely.
In West Flanders, traffic-safer school environments will be created in Ypres, Ichtegem, Kortrijk, Menen, Houthulst, Bredene, Koekelare, Ledegem, Zwevegem, Roeselare, Lendelede, Wingene, Harelbeke, Hooglede, Langemark-Poelkapelle, Wevelgem, Deerlijk and Torhout.
