Topless on the beach, is that still possible?

Summer has officially started today and so the swimming and endless lying on the beach can begin. During the summer, women’s sunbathing topless is always a topic of conversation.

June 21 is National Topless Day, the day on which various organizations draw attention to women’s sunbathing without tops. Women often feel watched and judged if the top is taken off while sunbathing, research shows.

RTV Drenthe took to the streets in Assen to ask what people think of topless sunbathing. For example, a male passer-by said: “That’s quite normal, we men do it too.” A young lady said she understands why women don’t do it. “You feel like you are quickly judged. But if women want to do it, they should definitely do it.”
