Topi for Raitase kkk 8.22,00, for Lamecha Girman ME 7.52,11

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, the Finn achieved the top result of the domestic season, and Ethiopia’s Lamecha Girma set a new world record in the Paris Diamond League. In France, the old ME was broken in no less than three running distances.

The Paris Diamond League Friday night was spectacular and even unbelievable, as the third ME result was Ethiopia’s Lamecha Girman 7.52.11 in the men’s 3,000m hurdles.

Earlier in France, world records were set by Norway Jakob Ingebrigtsen by two miles and of Kenya Faith Kipyegon at 5,000 meters.

– I am really, really happy. I love you, announced Girma in an interview with CMore.

The previous ME was Qatar’s By Saif Saaeed Shaheen 7.53.63 for the year 2004.

European champion Top Raitanen saw the memorable events of Paris up close. He ended up in 13th place in the steeplechase with the top result of the domestic season 8:22.00.

– We started at a good pace. The two-kilometer Intermediate time was around 5:30 and the first kilometer around 2:42, but the last ton froze and there was also a bit of caution when crossing the obstacles, Raitanen said in the Sports Association’s press release.

Earlier this season, Raitanen has competed twice. In Karlsruhe, Germany, on May 20, the man clocked a personal record of 3:38.47 at 1,500 meters. The third in June in Bergen, Norway, the 3,000-meter hurdles was broken with a time of 8:24.77.

– The 1,500 meters run in Karlsruhe showed that the condition is right. Now we just need obstacle races before this journey begins, so we need more of these small steps.

The Finn’s record in the hurdles is 8:16.57 from 2020.

– Now was a really good place to run. I came in the second group, but the last ton still didn’t have the recovered flow. The trainings have gone well, so at some point you can find that endurance even in the competition, Raitanen stated.

Raitanen will next compete in the Paavo Nurmi Games on Tuesday, where a high-speed run is offered.

– Let’s see how the knee rises there. You have a couple of days to respond.
