Top talent Mathys Tel landed in Munich

After Robert Lewandowski’s departure, youngster Mathys Tel should become FC Bayern’s new striker. Medical check and signature are still missing.

The transfer of the French storm talent Mathys Tel to FC Bayern is about to be completed. The 17-year-old landed in Munich on Monday, as reported by “Münchner Merkur”, “tz” and “Bild”. The teenager from Stade Rennes is therefore about to sign a contract in Munich. The medical examination is still pending.

Nagelsmann trusts Tel “one day 40 goals per season”.

The captain of the France U17 national team is said to have signed a five-year contract. The teenager should cost up to 30 million euros transfer fee. There were initially no official announcements from the clubs.

Tel had already thanked the staff and coaches and teammates of his Rennes club on social networks on Sunday evening for the time they spent together. He has worn the club’s shirt with immense pride and true honor since he was 12, Tel wrote. “A new page is turned. Cool head, warm heart as I write to you,” Tel added.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann thinks a lot of him. “We’re trying to find young, talented players who we can develop into world-class players,” Nagelsmann said on the phone on the US trip. The Munich coach believes Tel will “one day score 40 goals a season” for the German record champions: “But if he scores ten goals this season, we’ll all be happy.”
