Swedish Lovisa Modig, 30, skied his last race as a competitive skier last weekend. He was fifth in the 30 km free race at the Swedish championships.

Next, the woman changes her overalls to spikes. Modig plans to compete on the athletics side in the 5,000m and 10,000m distances. Last summer, he already won silver with ten and bronze with vito at the Swedish championships.

– I thought that if I’m this good at this, even though I haven’t even invested in the sport, then maybe I still have quite a lot of room to improve. I just went to the starting line and let go, Modig explained his change of sport.

He doesn’t see himself as a marathoner, so the vitone and kympi seemed like the most suitable distances. Modig is already planning to compete in the Finland-Sweden international match next summer.

– They are the most suitable trips.

Modig has been skiing in the World Cup since 2017. The best achievement of his career was second place in the relay at the Salppur World Cup 2021.
