Top scorer Robert Mühren leads FC Volendam to the Eredivisie: “First goal the most beautiful”

He came back to FC Volendam with only one goal: to promote to the Eredivisie. The mission succeeded, although it was more difficult than expected, especially after the winter break. Robert Mühren left his mark on the team of trainer Wim Jonk with 29 goals and 12 assists. The 32-year-old striker can look back on a successful season with NH Sport.

Mühren must leave the top scorer title to Thijs Dallinga this year. The Excelsior attacker was the big surprise of last season. Having come over from FC Groningen, Dallinga scored no fewer than 32 hits for the Kralingers in his first year.

Mühren may be able to pick up another price. De Volendammer is one of the nominees with Joey Sleegers (FC Eindhoven), Rui Mendes (FC Emmen), Patrick Pflücke (Roda JC) and Thijs Dallinga. Last year Mühren won this prize while playing for SC Cambuur. The results will be announced on Thursday 12 May.

Honoring FC Volendam can be seen live

FC Volendam will be honored this afternoon for their promotion to the Eredivisie. That happens – although the route is different than usual – on the Back and forth. The club ceremony can be seen live on NH Nieuws from 2.45 pm, both online and on television.
