Top scorer Meesseman propels Chicago to profit

Chicago Sky won the WNBA North American basketball league for the nineteenth time this season on Saturday. The team of Emma Meesseman and Julie Allemand won 89-81 at the College Park Center in Arlington (Texas) against the Dallas Wings and remains in the lead.

Meesseman was good for 23 points and thus crowned herself, together with Kahleah Copper, as the most productive player in Chicago. The West Flemish also handed out seven assists and used eight rebounds. Allemand, in the starting line-up for the first time this season, accounted for two points, eight assists and a rebound. Chicago made the difference especially in a strong closing quarter (30-16).

Chicago, also with Ann Wauters as an assistant in the coaching staff, is in the lead with nineteen victories against six defeats, ahead of the Las Vegas Aces (17-7). The next assignment for the defending champion will follow on Wednesday with a home game in the Wintrust Arena against Seattle Storm.
