The Boaz bridge in the center of Meppel partially collapsed at the end of this afternoon. Photos show that the upper part of the cyclist’s bridge has been demolished.
The fire brigade is present and has cordoned off the transition with a red ribbon. The police have also arrived to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The so-called Boaz Bridge between the Oude Boazstraat and Zuideindigerpad is one of the better-known bridges in the center of Meppel. The bridge has been renovated several times in recent years. It is not known how it is possible that the structure partially collapsed.
