The man escaped from the prison of Sint-Gillis in March 2020. He had been convicted several times in our country for armed robbery, which had earned him a total sentence of 21 years in prison. The man had been imprisoned in Conakry prison since December 2022, where he was also able to escape.
Ibrahim Akhlal is also wanted by the Dutch court. He is suspected of participating in the theft of gold and precious stones in Amsterdam in May 2021. In March 2022, the Belgian federal police launched an international arrest warrant for the man, at the request of the Dutch judiciary. In December 2022, he was captured in Conakry, where he was imprisoned.
