Tooske Ragas wants Giel de Winter to make amends for misbehavior: ‘This is not possible’

Tooske Ragas believes that Giel de Winter should compensate for his misbehavior in an elderly complex in Zwolle, for example by working for a number of hours in the care of the elderly.

Giel de Winter and his colleagues from StukTV have turned a complex of vulnerable elderly people upside down for a funny item, in which they dress up as elderly people. It has gone down the wrong way with many people and the elderly complex itself, Zonnehuis in Zwolle, is also closed not amused

Giel reacts

Does Gil regret it? Albert Verlinde phoned him: “He says: ‘I think it’s so bad.’ He is now in Ibiza, because his baby turned two today. You celebrate that in Ibiza of course, you understand that,” he says in Show news

Giel says to Albert: “I just find it annoying, because we’ve done everything… Would I want to scare the elderly? The people have their last good years, want to have peace. I really don’t go into a retirement home like that. It’s absolute nonsense. We are also on very good terms with the home, we have talked about it.”

What does Eric say?

Even neuropsychology professor Erik Scherder is now getting involved. He says that you should not cause any unrest in the vicinity of frail elderly. “That vulnerability is expressed in the flexibility of thinking or the fact that you think: what is the structure of the day around me? What’s my hold on?”

He continues: “Those are the fixed things that people can still hold on to. And thinking: I know that person, that makes me feel safe. So if you suddenly do a robbery there with all kinds of things that suddenly happen there, it can be very unpleasant for those people.”

Compensation

Erik believes that something has to be done in return. “Of course, this is really not what you want for people who are so vulnerable. I would say: if I were them, I would just walk along in the nursing home for a week or so in return and help with care. And then see if it was still that fun.”

Tooske Ragas agrees. She says to Albert: “If you speak to Giel again… I like the idea of joining in for a few hours somewhere to make up for those hours… That would be a good thing.”

Albert: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they still do that, because that’s how I know the men.”

Come closer

For Tooske it all comes extra close. “Coincidentally, I did voluntary work in this Zonnehuis, because I come from Zwolle. There are also a lot of people living with dementia. If someone suddenly drops a box with crockery, I can imagine that it shocks you.”

Evert Sanwaarden hopes that the men from StukTV will listen to Erik Scherder. “If such an authority says that, then it’s just stay away from those kinds of places and play tricks where you normally do and let people sit in a rest home.”
