At the club since 2006
Tony Jantschke has renewed his contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach. As the “foals” announced, the 32-year-old central defender is now bound until 2024. Jantschke switched to the Gladbach youth team in 2006 and became a professional there in 2009. Only Bayern’s Thomas Müller has been active for his club in the upper house for as long, which makes both of the Bundesliga professionals most loyal to the club.
With Reus & Neuer: The most loyal players in the Bundesliga
“I’ve experienced everything at this club – from relegation to the Champions League – and I’m very happy that there will be another chapter over at least a year. The fans also appreciate that I’ve been at the club for a long time and show me a lot of appreciation – that gives me a good feeling,” says Jantschke. “Of course I know my role in the team, but I still feel fit and believe that I can continue to make my contribution to the team.”

Following his career, Jantschke should stay with the club. After the defensive man was often shaken by bad luck with injuries in recent years, he is no longer part of coach Daniel Farke’s regular team. The right-footer from Hoyerswerda has played 90 minutes in six Bundesliga games this season. Jantschke is ranked 19th among Gladbach’s record players, but he could still work his way up a few places by the end of the 2023/24 season.
Borussia has a contract with defender Tony that expires at the end of the season #Jantschke extended by one year to 2024.
We look forward to another year with you, football god! #FromFoalsBecomeLegends
