On Friday, it was reported that the singing legend Tony Bennett has died at the age of 96. Now the musician’s wife and son have published a touching announcement to honor the memory of the legend.
Wife Susan Benedetto and son Danny Bennett have remembered Bennett in a text published on his Instagram account.
– Thank you to all of Tony’s fans, friends and colleagues who celebrated his life and humanity and shared their love for him and his musical legacy, the post begins.

In their writing, the wife and son recall the curve of Bennett’s career.
– From his first gigs as a singing waitress in Queens to his last shows at Radio City Music Hall, Tony wanted to perform the songs he loved and make people happy.
Benedetto and Bennett write that while the news of his passing is sad, there is joy to be found in Tony Bennett’s musical legacy.
As a photo, the update shared a shot of Bennett performing at Radio City Music Hall on his 95th birthday in August 2021. His concerts with Lady Gaga were his last public appearances.

American Bennett’s 70-plus-year career is unparalleled, and he sold around 60 million albums during his career. For example Frank Sinatra mentioned him as his favorite singer at the time.
Earlier, a post was made on Bennett’s Instagram account announcing his passing. In the same update, it was stated that just days before his death, the man was still singing at his piano. It was the man’s last song Because of Youwhich was his first chart-topping hit.

Bennett suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2016. The man continued to perform and record even after receiving the diagnosis. The diagnosis was made public in 2021.
Susan Benedetto and Tony Bennett got married in 2007. Danny Bennett was the man’s first child from a previous union. Danny Bennett was born in 1954.
