The KNMI expects Noord-Holland to be ravaged by heavy rain and thunderstorms tonight and has therefore announced code yellow. Traffic participants in particular must be extra alert because of potentially dangerous situations due to the weather.
The warning is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday morning. Severe rain and thunderstorms can bring local hail and strong wind gusts up to 80 km per hour tonight.
On Monday morning, strong gusts of wind from 75 to 90 km per hour will be expected along the northwest coast. The wind is from a south-westerly direction. In the afternoon the wind drops again and the gusts disappear.
The KNMI emphasizes that traffic and outdoor activities in particular will be affected by the stormy weather.
