A few months before his contract with the Spanish record champions Real Madrid expired, soccer professional Toni Kroos had not yet made a decision about his professional future.
However, the 2014 world champion does not rule out ending his career or leaving Real. He’s still considering whether or not to continue next season, said the 33-year-old in Rabat in the mixed zone after the Champions League winner’s 5-3 win in the Club World Cup final against Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal Arabia, as reported by the radio station “Cadena Ser” and the specialist newspapers “AS” and “Marca” in Spain.
Kroos explained that he wanted to continue talks with Real Madrid first and only announce anything once the final official decision has been made. The former Bayern Munich professional emphasized that he had a lot to think about and neither side would do anything stupid.
Kroos has been playing for the “Royals” since 2014, his contract expires on June 30, 2023. After numerous titles, the midfielder still has big sporting goals with the Madrilenians.
They want to win the Champions League again this year, “even though we know it’s very difficult.” But first he wanted to “celebrate a bit” after the Club World Cup title.
