In the women’s Bundesliga there will be a showdown on Friday. But for a trainer, the classic Bavaria against Wolfsburg takes place at a completely wrong time.

The Bundesliga top game between the women of FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg could play a crucial role in the title race. However, the chosen kick -off time is surprising. Because the duel of the two top teams begins on Friday at 4:55 p.m. (in the live ticker at T-Online).

This early termination is unusual and triggered with Wolfsburg coach Tommy Stroot. The kick -off time was “not worthy of a top game,” criticized the coach. In his view, however, even more severe cradle that it does not surprise him. “And maybe that’s the worst message about it”.

The Friday game in the Bundesliga usually begins at 6.30 p.m. The decision for Friday in coordination with Bayern and Wolfsburg with a view to the quarter-final first legs of the Champions League was made in the next week, the German Football Association (DFB) said. Also due to other sports, the Women’s Bundesliga cannot always receive its “favorite program place” on free TV, according to a letter on the attitudes.

Stroot showed understanding for the difficult planning. “The players can live reasonably with the kick -off time,” he said. However: “Basically, it is for fans, but also many employees who may have to sit in front of the television in time, anything but optimal. I don’t make a secret out of it.”

From a sporting point of view, the encouragement promises tension. Bayern Munich leader (41 points) welcomes the third -placed VfL Wolfsburg (38) and could take an important step in the championship race with a win. Wolfsburg’s Stroot is therefore more happy about the sporting starting point. “We have the opportunity to draw against Bavaria,” he said in view of three points behind and an identical goal difference (both 41:11).

“And that is an initial constellation, which I would definitely have signed before the season.” He therefore goes to Munich “to win a game”. With the German champion, respect for the permanent rival is great. Wolfsburg is a “mentality team”, said international Sydney Lohmann, “that makes her extremely dangerous”. The importance of the game is the 24 -year -old midfielder: “If you win, it’s just hotter. If you lose, the feeling is worse.” Duels against Wolfsburg are more intense than normal games, “there is more energy in it”.
