Tom Vander Hoogerstraete first to cross the finish line on a quarter triathlon in Bruges

The triathlon traditionally started at the Sasplein. After a kilometer of swimming in the canals, Joris Basslé was the first to leave the water, followed shortly by his teammate Tom Vander Hoogerstraete. After swimming, the triathletes had to cycle 45 km through the polder landscape around Bruges. Vander Hoogerstraete was the strongest on the bike and built up a lead.

Jonathan Wayaffe was second last year and was seen as the man to beat this year. He started the running part in third place, but there was nothing to start against a very strong Vander Hoogerstraete who can write the quarter triathlon of Bruges to his name. Louis Naeyaert and Sander Heemeryck complete the podium.
