Tom Odell releases the song “Butterflies” together with Aurora, named after the butterflies in your stomach.
The British singer-songwriter and the Norwegian singer harmonize over an effective, simple piano melody. They reinforce their duet about love with atmospheric vocals during the chorus. The lyrics are hopeful while simultaneously emphasizing the heaviness and lightness of love and the one day it needs.
Odell himself describes the song as follows: “The song is about spending the day with someone you really like and then saying goodbye in the evening without knowing whether you will see them again – and still being happy with them this experience.”
He is a big fan of Aurora and the result of the collaboration confirms that both understand each other musically. “Butterflies” is Odell’s first new song following the release of his fifth album BEST DAY OF MY LIFE in October 2022.
