Chet Hanks, the son of two-time Oscar winner actor Tom Hanks, says he suffered at a younger age because his parents were public figures.
Chet Hanks ’mother is actress Rita Wilson. She tells in her Youtube video how other children treated her disrespectfully.
According to Hanks, his peers found him arrogant and pampered, who felt entitled to get what he wanted.
This was difficult for him, which is why he would have needed more support from his father.
“I didn’t have the model of a strong man who would have told me,‘ Fuck, these people, they’re just jealous of you, ’” he says.
Hanks says he would have needed someone to tell him that his peers are malicious just because he had everything he ever wanted.
– I didn’t have anyone to tell me this. I’ll now tell the younger version of myself what I was longing to hear then, he says.
Chet Hanks says people snuggle up to form an opinion about him before they get to know him.
– It is extremely difficult to break their walls, he says.
– I have encountered a lot of contempt, a lot of hostility and negativity because everyone has been willing to hate me.
On his Instagram account, Hanks often poses without a shirt and bulges his muscles. He says his hard outer shell and ability to scare have kept his “haters” at bay.
– People kind of fucked me up as I grew up. It never happened face to face, he recalls.
– It always happened behind my back in the form of gossip and bullshit.
Despite everything, he says he understands that he grew up in privileged conditions. He also understands that his growing conditions could cause resentment in the less fortunate.
– I got to travel around the world, stay in great hotels, fly private planes and because of these I am very blessed. I wouldn’t change my situation to anything, he says.
In addition to Chet, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson also have another son, Truman Hanks. Hanks also has two children from his previous union.
