Tom Dumoulin will start his time trial on Saturday at 4.31 pm from Heroes’ Square in Budapest. The man from Maastricht has set his sights on the win in this stage and possibly the pink jersey.
The time trial is more than nine kilometers long and ends on a climb. Dumoulin already indicated that the course suits him well.
classification men
Dumoulin starts quite early compared to the other classification men. After Dumoulin, Simon Yates, Mikal Landa, Richard Carapaz, João Almeida and Wilco Kelderman will start. The winner of the pink jersey on Friday, Mathieu van der Poel will be the last to leave the Heroes’ Square in Budapest, at 4.55 pm.
Specialists
There are more time trial specialists looking for victory atop the mountain at Budapest Castle. Slovenian Jan Tratnik, for example, who defeated Tadej Pogacar in the national time trial championship last year. Edoardo Affini, Thymen Arensman and Richie Porte will also try. Wout Poels from Blitterswijck will drive off the starting podium at 4.12 pm.
