The US clothing company Kontoor Brands Inc. has filled a key position. On Monday, the parent company of denim brands Wrangler and Lee announced the appointment of Tom Doerr as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. The experienced legal expert will take up the post on June 6 and will report directly to CEO Scott Baxter in the future, according to a statement.
In his new role, Doerr will assume responsibility for “continuing to maintain the highest standards of integrity, ethics and conduct consistent with the company’s values and mission.” He is also responsible for “fundamental legal and business tasks”. According to the group, in addition to the management of the legal department, this also includes areas such as compliance, crisis management and global trademark rights.
Doerr comes from construction equipment manufacturer The Manitowoc Company Inc., where he most recently also held the position of Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary. According to Kontoor CEO Baxter, the newcomer brings “twenty years of impressive professional experience” to the table. “His global perspective will be invaluable as Kontoor continues to grow,” said Baxter.
