Tokio Hotel release their own Christmas song, but what does their celebration actually look like?
Tokio Hotel has been around for over 20 years. During this time, the band also dedicated itself to a number of projects outside of music, such as the lead singer’s own fashion brand or the podcast “Kaulitz Hills” by the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz. In six studio albums so far, Tokio Hotel have moved in different genres: from rock to synth-pop to indie. Now her first Christmas song “Your Christmas” followed as part of a collaboration with Amazon Music. In an interview, we spoke to the quartet about how they are spending the holidays, which artists they would actually like to hear a Christmas song from and looked back on their year 2023.
Christmas is coming
A lot has changed at Tokio Hotel since their 2005 hit “Through the Monsun” – and not just musically. While Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing still live in Germany, the brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz found their new home in Los Angeles a few years ago. Nevertheless, the band still works on joint records and comes together through traditions during the Christmas season. In addition to good food and Christmas music, binge-watching the “Harry Potter” films is also part of Tokio Hotel’s winter season – just as family drama is sometimes part of Christmas.
As we all know, at the end of the year we not only unpack presents, but also reflect on the past few months. In keeping with this, we spoke to Tokio Hotel in our interview about their 2023, in which, among other things, Tom announced at “1Live Krone” that he would be taking over the moderation of “Wetten,dass..?”. And Bill is making his rap debut with us! You can see what else you can expect from the band in 2024 in the video interview.
