Kazakhstan supports the principle of the indivisibility of security, Tokayev said, calling on Russia and Ukraine for peace talks. He added that “a bad peace is better than a good quarrel”, and Kazakhstan could act as a mediator in this process.

The failure to implement the Minsk agreements led to the operation in Ukraine, Kazakhstan offers mediation in negotiations between Moscow and Kiev. This was stated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at an unscheduled congress of the Nur Otan party, transmits portal Tengrinews.
“There is no other way. A bad peace is better than a good quarrel. Without peace, there will be no development. Kazakhstan, for its part, is ready to provide all kinds of assistance, including intermediary services, if, of course, they are needed,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
According to Tokayev, the geopolitical situation has escalated “in an unprecedented way”, there are signs of the irreversibility of this trend. “As a country that hosted the OSCE summit in 2010, we insist on the principle of the indivisibility of Eurasian security. I stated this during my visit to Moscow on February 10,” the Kazakh president said.

The principle of the indivisibility of security, which consists in the fact that the security of one state cannot be ensured at the expense of the security of another, has become key for Russia in negotiations with the United States and NATO earlier this year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. “Today I confirmed to Anthony Blinken that this is a topic that we will not allow to be “rolled up”, and we will insist on an honest conversation,” the minister said in early February. Lavrov considered that Moscow’s Western partners are trying “not even to ignore, but to consign to complete oblivion” this principle.
