Toiling at Stad and Esch in Diever for the final exams: ‘I’m ready’

Sleepless nights, learning, learning, learning and sometimes a little panic. An exciting time is coming for secondary school students. Final exams started today. There are concerns among students, student organization LAKS and teachers. There are no more corona relaxations this year for the first time.

“Yes, I am ready,” says physics and chemistry teacher Jory Boersma. He lays out papers on the tables for the students to take notes on. “I hope the students are too. But I assume that,” he thinks. A day like today is always exciting, thinks Boersma. “Because of course I hope that everyone gets a nice diploma.”

Last year it worked. At that time, the secondary school where Boersma works, the RSG Stad en Esch in Diever, had a 100% success rate. But whether it will succeed this year remains to be seen.
