Fenerbahçe Beko defeated TOFAŞ 98-87 on the road in the second match of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League play-off quarter-finals.
Fenerbahce Beko, who scored points in the set attacks with Pierre and Montley in the match, which started with mutual baskets, got a 16-9 advantage in the 5th minute. The yellow-dark blue team continued their good game in the remaining minutes against TOFAŞ, which had difficulties in scoring against its effective defense, and finished the first quarter ahead by 26-13.
Finding the solution by effectively using Toure under the basket against Fenerbahçe Beko, who was effective in the outside shots in the second quarter, TOFAŞ reduced the difference to single digits (30-38) in the 15th minute after receiving the score contribution from Manek. Fenerbahce Beko, who showed a better score than the first quarter, responded with Hayes’ effective performance, and the yellow-dark blue team went to the locker room with a 49-38 superiority.
Starting the third quarter well, Fenerbahçe Beko did not break the same game discipline from the beginning of the match until these minutes and continued to be effective in outside shots. Scoring points with Hayes and Pierre from behind the three-point line, the yellow-dark blue team made good use of Montley from under the basket and managed to maintain the lead in the 25th minute: 48-59. Breaking the pressure of the guest team with Ennis’ assists and points, TOFAŞ suddenly reduced the gap to 5 points (60-65) with 1 minute left, but Fenerbahçe Beko Montley and Biberovic scored points and entered the final period with a 70-60 score advantage.
Failing to start the last quarter well, TOFAŞ broke with the game discipline after head coach Orhun Ene was disqualified as a result of his objections. Turning this situation into an advantage, Fenerbahçe Beko did not allow his opponent to return in the score and won the park 98-87.
