Tod’s is a traditional Italian brand specializing in the processing of leather. The company is best known for its high-quality shoes and leather accessories, which have an image of "quiet luxury and comfort" inherent.
origins
The origins of the company lie in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century. Founded by Filippo Della Valle as an artisanal shoe manufacturer, Tod’s is based on craftsmanship, attention to detail and high quality. In the early years, the manufacturer produced in small batches and mostly on site. However, this all changed in the middle of the century when Filippo’s grandson Diego took over management of the company. Under his direction, Tod’s began to produce in larger quantities for American department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.
development
In 1987, Tod’s created a shoe design that became emblematic of the label’s style and aspirations – a shoe made of thin, flexible leather with a rubber sole that extended over the heel. The shoe should achieve maximum comfort and support when driving. To this day, the shoe is one of Tod’s most iconic designs, with unrivaled recognition value around the world. The Tod’s Spa Group later expanded its brand portfolio with the labels Fay and Hogan, and the group also acquired a large stake in the renowned shoe manufacturer Roger Vivier. Tod’s has more than 30 stores in the United States, Asia, Australia and Europe.
Current
In recent years, Tod’s has continually expanded its range and presence around the world, while remaining true to its Italian heritage and artisanal origins. By combining tradition and innovation, Tod’s has established a key position in the global luxury footwear and leather goods industry.
