Today the Consultation Committee will meet again to consider the corona situation in our country. There are a lot of relaxation on the table, which may open the door to the ‘Empire of Freedom’ again. The corona figures in Belgium are looking quite good at the moment, which means that we will most likely switch from code orange to code yellow on the corona barometer. But what exactly does code yellow mean? An overview.
Read everything about the coronavirus in this file.
Code yellow on the corona barometer indicates that the epidemiological situation and the pressure on hospitals in our country are under control.
To switch to code yellow, daily less than 65 hospital admissions to be. In addition, no more than 300 corona patients in intensive care lying down. Those conditions have not yet been fully met. Although fewer than 300 intensive care beds have already been taken, we still had an average of 134 hospitalizations per day in the past seven days.
Moreover, once we move to code yellow, there is no longer a state of emergency.

Events
† For indoor activities, such as theater performances or dance venues, almost no measures† However, the use of a CO2 meter obligated.
• Attendees need no mouth mask more to wear and also it Covid Safe Ticket (CST) is no longer required†
• There are also few rules for outdoor events. Mouth mask obligation and the CST are no longer available. The indoor standards do apply to closed tents or covered terraces. The target value with regard to the air quality in that case is 900 ppm CO2, the limit is 1,500 ppm.
• Moreover, there is no longer a public restriction for events.
catering industry
• The catering industry has, just like with code orange, in the case of code yellow no closing time Lake.
• The mouth mask obligation will also be abolished, both for customers and for staff†
• Customers are also not required to show CST.
• Inside there must be a CO2 meter present. Outside, just as with events, the indoor air quality standards apply and the target value is again 900 ppm CO2 and the limit 1,500 ppm.
Leisure activities
For leisure activities that take place indoors, in a group and without an audience (workshops, rehearsals, indoor sports without an audience, youth and sports camps,…), again virtually no measures apply. However, extra attention remains good ventilation necessary. There is no longer any limitation on the capacity of the activities. In the case of youth camps, there is also no restriction on the number of overnight stays.
If the leisure activity takes place outdoors (such as outdoor sports and youth activities, hiking events, amateur cycling races, day trips,…) no measures†
In all scenarios mentioned, wearing a mouth mask is still recommended for people who medically vulnerable to be. Also on the public transport It may still be mandatory to wear a mouth mask. Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden (CD&V) said that the transport companies – NMBS and De Lijn – could decide whether the obligation continues to apply. It is also not yet clear whether wearing a mouth mask in shops and supermarkets will remain mandatory. In schools, the mouth mask obligation will probably be canceled.
