Mark Rutte’s memory is notorious, but the Prime Minister has not forgotten his appointment with Today Inside. He still keeps his promise to come by a second time.
Mark Rutte was a guest at Today Inside in March just before the elections and there was a lot to do before the broadcast, because wouldn’t the men of VI play into his hands too much? After all, the program has a large conservative base and they feel abandoned by the VVD prime minister.

After the broadcast, Rutte promised presenter Wilfred Genee that he would also come by if it was not election time. In fact, the Prime Minister was supposed to be there again last week. That ultimately fell through because he fell ill the day before and had to catch up on an important debate on the night in question.
Gerard Joling, who was invited for the same broadcast, did come. Both the prime minister and the singer indicated that they hope to meet again at Today Inside. And Rutte is now in any case already committed.

Rutte’s team and the editors of Today Inside have set a date. “Is he coming?” asked Johan Derksen in last night’s broadcast.
Wilfred Genee answered in the affirmative: “Yes, he will come, yes. May 22nd.”
John: “Get out!”
Wilfred: “Get out? Okay.”
