Ten World Cups, four of them on three German ice rinks – this is what the luge calendar looks like next winter. One of the highlights of the season also takes place in a German ice channel.
The Luge World Cup will also be visiting German ice rinks four times in the coming season. As can be seen from the racing calendar for the 2024/2025 season announced by the world association FIL, the World Cup entourage will stop in Oberhof, Altenberg and Winterberg.
Twice in Oberhof
As this winter, the Thuringian Oberhof will be the venue for the toboggan competitions twice from December 13th to 15th, 2024 and January 24th to 28th, 2025, with the ice track on the Rennsteig taking place. Max Langenhan, Julia Taubitz and Co. will stop on the difficult track in Altenberg, Saxony, from January 10th to 12th.
European Championship in Winterberg
One of the highlights of the season will take place in Winterberg from January 17th to 19th, 2025. In the ice chute in Hochsauerland it’s not just about World Cup but also European Championship honors. The world championship titles will be awarded two weeks later on the 2010 Olympic track in Whistler, Canada.
Season finale in Asia
The season opener takes place on the last weekend in November in Lillehammer, Norway. The season finale will take place in Asia in 2025. From February 14th to 16th, the 2018 Olympic track will first go down into the valley in Pyeonchang, South Korea. According to the world association, the World Cup final from February 21st to 23rd will also take place in Asia. Where exactly is not yet clear.
