He’s something like Mr. Ispo: Tobias Gröber, who has been with Messe München for more than 20 years, including long-standing manager of the Ispo sports fair, will soon be more involved in this area. In addition to the consumer goods division, he will again be responsible for the entire trade fair and online portfolio of the ISPO Group. The previous Head of Ispo Group, Dr. Jeanette Friedrich has decided to look for new professional challenges, according to a press release from Messe München.
Gröber, who together with his team successfully organized the first IAA Mobility in Munich last year, will now be supported by Lena Haushofer. As Project Director, she is responsible for the two leading trade fairs OutDoor by Ispo (June 12 to 14, 2022) and Ispo Munich (November 28 to 30, 2022). There have also been new appointments to other positions. Haushofer has worked at Messe München since 2011. Before she switched to the two Ispo trade fairs as Community Manager for the outdoor segment, she was Exhibition Director for the Lopec trade fair.
“More than almost any other industry, the trade fair business has experienced extreme challenges in the past two years,” says Tobias Gröber. “As the Ispo Group, we have also used the opportunities of this crisis and are realigning Ispo Munich and OutDoor by Ispo. This includes adjusting the dates in close cooperation with the market as well as reorganizing the team.”
Due to the pandemic, numerous trade fairs at Messe München had to be canceled in the last two years. These include the Ispo and Outdoor by Ispo trade fairs. The latter could only take place once after moving from the traditional Friedrichshafen location to Munich. In order to better reflect the needs of industry and trade, the trade fair decided last autumn to move the dates of both trade fairs forward by several weeks.
