The city of Milan will confer the golden Ambrogino in memorythe highest honor granted by the Municipality, a Giulia Tramontanothe young woman killed by her boyfriend Alessandro Impagnatiello last May, while she was seven months pregnant with their child.

This was decided by the Municipality’s special commission which met to decide on the awards that will be given Thursday 7 Decemberthe day of Saint Ambrose, patron saint of the city. More specifically, they will be delivered one Great Gold Medal5 Gold Medals of Memory15 Gold Medals and 20 Certificates of Civic Merit. In addition to Giulia Tramontano, the other Gold Medals of Memory will be awarded to:

  • Angelo Chessa, head of orthopaedics, son of Ugo, commander of the Moby Prince ferry. Together with his brother Luchino he fought for years, for shed light on the tragedy that cost the life of his father and 140 other people;
  • Francesco Alberonisociologist who passed away last August;
  • Adriana Mascagniauthor of many songs that have made the history of the ecclesial movement of Communion and Liberation;
  • Luigi Predevalentrepreneur and founder of MediaWorld;
