TM database: All international matches of Yugoslavia can be called up – last international match with Vidic & Co.

…better and better!

Another milestone has been added to the transfer market statistics. All Yugoslavia national team matches are now available in our database. The first official international match was played against Czechoslovakia in 1920 and they lost 7-0. In November 2002, Nemanja Vidic, Dejan Stanković & Co. lost the last official game before the disintegration into today’s successor states against France 0:3 (to the match report). For Vidic it was the first and only appearance for Yugoslavia, later the long-time Manchester United professional was used for and.

The country celebrated its greatest success at the European Championships in 1960 and 1968, when it reached the final in each case. However, the final was lost against both the USSR and Italy. At World Cups, Yugoslavia reached the semi-finals in 1930 and 1976.

Dragan Dzajic, who recorded a total of 84 appearances between 1964 and 1979 and is thus ahead of Savo Milosevic (73 games), will remain unrivaled as the record player in the history books. Milosevic, who has featured at club level with the likes of Aston Villa, Real Zaragoza and AC Parma, is also one of the country’s top scorers. The 33 international goals are only surpassed by Blagoje Marjanović (36 goals).
