…better and better!
Another milestone has been added to the transfer market statistics. All Slovenian national team matches since the first international match in 1991 are now available in our database. Previously, the country was part of Yugoslavia. Former central defender Bostjan Cesar made the most appearances with 102. With Bojan Jokic, a second player has already cracked the 100 game mark. Two well-known names in Germany are also in the top 10: Miso Brecko, who played for Hamburger SV and 1. FC Köln, among others, and the former “Effzeh” professional Milivoje Novakovic.
Slovenia’s top scorer is former attacking midfielder Zlatko Zahovic, who has 36 goals in 82 appearances. Behind him follows Novakovic with 32 goals.
The highest defeat of the Slovenian selection, which has so far qualified twice for a World Cup (2002 & 2010) and once for a European Championship (2000), meanwhile came on October 12, 2002 in the European Championship qualification in France, as the end 0:5 was recorded. The clearest victory was higher. On February 8th, they won 7-0 in an international match in Oman.
