Tips, conditions and more: everything you want to know about a facade garden in Zoetermeer

The advantages of a facade garden

If you are still unsure whether you want a facade garden, it is good to know that a garden has many advantages. Raymond knows this better than anyone: “The main thing is that it brightens up your home, but that is only one part of the whole picture.”

The usefulness of a facade garden

“It may only be a small garden, but every stone that comes out of the ground creates a piece of greening. And that is good for biodiversity,” explains Raymond. “For example, there are various plants that attract bees or that attract butterflies.”

Against heat stress

According to Raymond, it doesn’t stop there: “A facade garden cools down the street. This does not happen if there are two plants in a corner, but if several households choose to place a facade garden. Many cities suffer from heat stress. That means the heat stays there. Greening counteracts this, because plants do not store the heat.”

Social contacts

Raymond: “I also believe that a facade garden is positive for social contacts in the neighbourhood. You quickly have a chat with the neighbors about the facade garden. In addition, the ‘copying effect’ is great with facade gardens; sets a good example!”
