In the current time, some guests give less tips. A comment from BZ editor Katja Colmenares.

tip. As a student, I was also dependent on it. In restaurants, cafes, bars, in the theater. You do an additional degree in sociology at night – behind the counter. But you won’t get enough of it.

Believe me: anyone who works in service always wants to give their guests a pleasant time. Of course everyone has a bad day, it happens to waiters and guests. And the waitress can’t do anything for a burnt schnitzel, she’s just the bearer of the sad news.

If you go out, you should calculate a ten percent tip. The nicer the evening was, the more. And if you pay with an EC or credit card, always tip extra – in cash! Otherwise it ends up who knows where, but not with the charming waitress who has been serving your family courteously all evening.

If you don’t give a tip or round up to 50 euros from 48.95, don’t be surprised if there are soon no more restaurants because there is a lack of staff.
