Magical Zoetermeer, the City Theater and the Jumbo supermarkets in Zoetermeer organize a Christmas party for the elderly with live music and good food. Nominate someone in your area who you know could use a pleasant afternoon.

The free Christmas festival is on Monday, December 18 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Artists such as Karin Bloemen, Ronnie Tober and Ria Valk, the Zoetermeers Men’s Choir and dancers from Dansis will perform.

Hang a ball in the Christmas tree

These weeks there will be Christmas trees in the Stadstheater and at the five Jumbo supermarkets in Zoetermeer (Oosterheem, Buytenwegh, Leidsewallen, Meerzicht and Rokkeveen Quirinegang). Here you hang your Christmas bauble with the name of the person you specify for December 18. There is room for 600 guests in the Great Hall of the City Theater.

This is the program of the Christmas festival

  • 3.30 pm: Walk-in with coffee/tea and something tasty
  • 4.30 pm: Welcome, dance and music performance. Presentation: Bert van Leeuwen
  • 5:30 PM: Christmas tasting led by students from the ROC college
  • 6:30 PM: Presentation of magical yellow suns by councilor Ingeborg ter Laak and performance by Zoetermeer’s men’s Christmas choir
  • 7:30 PM: Closing and reception of goodie bag
