Tino Martin has decided to cancel the entire press day of his new Videoland documentary because of the fuss about his lies, RTL Boulevard reports. “That’s not a good signal.”
There is another one: a celebrity with his own Videoland documentary full of personal drama and suffering. What does Tino Martin come up with now? The revelation that he is indeed a drunk. Well, well, well, what a surprise. But it does show that denying Dutch celebrities cannot be trusted, because how often did Tino deny it all…
‘No interviews for a while’
Now that it turns out afterwards that Tino has lied all his denials, the folk singer is under heavy fire. “He therefore immediately cancels all interviews,” said Vivienne van den Assem in the RTL Boulevard from last night.
Tino actually did not want to speak to the show section at the rehearsals of the concert De Amsterdamse Zomer. And that makes for somewhat uncomfortable television. “How did it go?” Aran asks him there.
The singer then: “Yes, good, but I am not doing an interview today, yes?”
Tino is still talking
Then it turns out that Tino still wants to talk. “What did I actually bring out and say? Just go and watch the documentary and see what it’s all about, how everything exactly passes by. It’s just a really fun documentary.”
He continues: “It is not a documentary at all in which I make all kinds of revelations or where very exciting things happen. Yes, exciting things pass by, but it’s not a documentary where I try to talk some kind of things away. Nor is it a charm offensive. It’s just a fun documentary.”
Twelve times
Aran then about the alcohol revelation: “You said that it happened about a dozen times that I bumped my head.”
Tino: “I have hit my head a hundred times in my life.”
Aran: “So many times?”
Tino: “Of course, life is trial and error, isn’t it? Or did you achieve everything at once?”
Aran: “No, definitely not.”
The conversation doesn’t get much further. Vivienne: “It was a bit crazy how things went today. What was that atmosphere like then?”
‘Very tense’
The atmosphere was ‘very tense’, Aran said. “Also a bit shocked Tino. Really the atmosphere of: I don’t want to say anything about it. I think he’s genuinely shocked by that promo that came out, in which you mainly hear his girlfriend Kimberly say that the booze is everywhere and that it’s a trap. ‘Every three seconds he can change.’”
He continues: “I think it will paint a fair picture of him and that he still has some trouble with that. I would have hoped that he would have said honestly: ‘It must have been wrong.’”
Movies
All those videos in which Tino gives screeching performances are clear, Aran thinks. “Then I think: yes, it was really partly because of the drink that it didn’t go well and that those performances were false. He has to work on that. Hopefully he is working on that too.”
Luuk Ikink: “That documentary is there for a reason. Why is he talking about it now?”
Aran: “We couldn’t ask him that. I don’t think it’s a good signal that he doesn’t give interviews.”
Vivienne: “The strange thing is that, following the trailer, he suddenly said: ‘I don’t do a press day anymore.’”
Aran: “That makes it strange indeed. That’s weird. I would like to advise him: just do interviews.”
