Tineke Schouten sees absolutely nothing in the plans to give Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman a more prominent role in the talk show landscape. “So exhausted!”
Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman have received many compliments for how they filled the gap that Today Inside left behind last month. They were much discussed, but the current VI replacement De Oranjezomer, with Hélène Hendriks at the helm, is actually doing much better.
‘attracts me less’
Yet here and there it is proposed to give Marcel & Gijs a more prominent role in the TV landscape. A few have even suggested using the two gentlemen on SBS 6 during the high season, but then at the weekend.
Comedian Tineke Schouten is not going to watch in any case, she says in conversation with VARAgids. “I like Inside today. These are guys in whom I recognize my own husband. They have the same humor. No bullshit for a while, just having fun with each other. Marcel & Gijs attracts me less.”
‘So exhausted’
Why isn’t Tineke a fan of the men? “I get tired when I see those two faces. They look so exhausted. I do understand that that is their gimmick, playing the dry ass, but you have to be sharp from time to time.”
SBS 6 needs to wake up, the comedienne thinks, despite the fact that the channel structurally bids for the rights for its theater performances. “SBS tries out too many nonsense programmes. Marble Mania and things like that.”
Great talent
RTL 4 can also do something about it, right? That program in which Irene Moors started hitting all kinds of shuffleboard like a crazy celebrity was also terrible. And that was presented by Marieke Elsinga.
Tineke: “I also think Marieke Elsinga is a great talent. It’s sad for her that her last program has flopped, but unfortunately you can’t control that yourself. I can see her moving in the direction of comedy later on. She has that humorous side and it is not always used yet. But hey, who am I, huh? I’m just saying something.”
