– Stephen, I’m ready to go anytime. I’m not afraid of death. The last part of my life has been wonderful. I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m tired.
That’s what the late rock singer Tina Turner said to her friend To Stephen Sills a couple of years ago. Sills tells People magazine in the interviewthat the superstar was ready to face whatever was coming his way.
Sills says that happiness in Turner’s life was brought especially by a happy relationship with husband Erwin Bach. The couple got married in 2013 after 27 years together.
– He had found true love and was able to live without fear. He had friends in Switzerland, and he really loved the people around him, says Sills in an interview.
Her husband Bach donated a kidney to Turner in 2017. Due to her kidney problems, Turner had to undergo dialysis treatments, which were difficult for her. Sills says Turner remained bright despite everything.
Turner, who retired at the age of 81, suffered from several health problems during his life, for example cancer and seizures.

Turner created a stage persona
According to Sills, Turner’s stage persona was deliberately created, and friends met to discuss it.
Turner was not a completely different person in private, even though he created a stage persona.
– He was really positive, energetic, interested and curious. He was an absolutely amazing person, says Sills.
