Timo TA Mikkonen’s widow’s stocks are running low, so something has to be given up.
Inka Soveri
Nina Mikkonen has put the estate of her husband, journalist, television presenter Timo TA Mikkonen, who died in 2017, up for sale. The offer is not just any trinket, but collectable rarities from the career of the media personality.
For sale are, among other things, framed pictures of the productions hosted by Timo TA, a sketch of the scenes of the show Today, here and now, celebrity autographs and baseball caps, as well as, for example, red-head lamps used in filming.
– There is simply so much stuff that the square footage is no longer enough. All warehouses are already full.
– At some point, you have to give up the goods. It would be selfish of me to leave it to the boys to go through everything later, says Nina about the decision to sell.
Chicks from the nest
Nina has now waded Timo T. A’s legacy through her sons Michael’s and Matias with.
– The boys have been allowed to take what they want. And not everything is sold anyway. For example, some of Timo’s trademarks, boots and western hats, will be kept.
– It could be that even though the boys don’t want some things now, they will become interested in them later, Nina reflects.
Mikael has already moved in, Matias is about to join the army and thus fly away from the nest.
– At some point, I will change to a smaller apartment. It’s better to get rid of stuff now than to panic later, Nina says.

Collectors interested
Nina says that her husband was a collector:
– He was a historian! Everything was preserved.
– Even when we moved from Myrskylä, I cut back on things, but I made the mistake of saving too much. You can make mistakes, but not twice, Nina laughs.
He put the things Huuto.net– service on Wednesday and told about it with a video In his Instagram. By Thursday, the deal has already taken place.
– One if the other has been bought. Collectors and Timo’s fans have been interested. Through the goods, you can remember Timo’s career with warmth and respect.
– Although I praise mine, Timo did have an exceptional career. He was a pioneer in many things, he started podcasts already in the 1990s, says Nina.

To produce joy
Nina has priced the goods in an indicative but light way.
– I’m not trying to make money or collect millions. We are talking about tens and hundreds.
– Collectors certainly know the value of things, although of course they don’t have the same feelings attached to them as I do. Giving up is wistful, but not sad. This is how life has gone now, Nina sums up.
After all, the pictures of the sold goods remain with him.
– I think it’s important that things go where there’s room for them and where they bring joy. The main thing is that they end up somewhere other than a landfill.
– And maybe I’ll come across the goods I’m selling somewhere, Nina thinks.
