Bundesliga promoted FC Schalke 04 is apparently getting another professional off their strike list.
At the beginning of May, Timo Becker let himself be celebrated by the royal blue supporters at the promotion party, although he no longer played for FC Schalke 04 in the second half of the Bundesliga.
After being sorted out by then-head coach Dimitrios Grammozis, he joined Hansa Rostock on loan in January. To celebrate, we went back to Gelsenkirchen at times, but Becker will probably not play football there again in the coming season.
According to consistent media reports, the 25-year-old is about to move to second division club Holstein Kiel. The “WAZ“confirmed a corresponding “Sky” message.
Becker is considered an ardent supporter of FC Schalke 04. However, he could not really assert himself in the S04 jersey.
No future for Timo Becker at FC Schalke 04
After he only played five games as a substitute in the 2nd Bundesliga under Grammozis and didn’t get any prospects for a regular spot, he was allowed to play 14 times from the start for Hansa Rostock.
The native of Herten is now hoping for a similar perspective with the Kiel Storks, who have recently made frequent use of Schalke.
The former Gelsenkircheners Steven Skrzybski and Fabian Reese will also wear the KSV jersey in the lower house in the coming season.
Kiel is apparently planning Becker as a replacement for Phil Neumann, who was transferred to Hannover 96. How much money Schalke collects for Becker (contract until 2023) is currently still open.
FC Schalke 04: Timo Becker celebrates promotion
The defensive all-rounder, who was most recently called up as a right-back, made headlines on the penultimate second division matchday.
In Rostock’s away game at FC Ingolstadt, Becker was injured and replaced after 22 minutes.
Then he immediately traveled to Gelsenkirchen, several hundred kilometers away, to celebrate the decisive 3:2 home win against FC St. Pauli in the stadium with “his” Schalke team.
